What are you thinking?

Did you know that about 95% of what you say today is the same stuff from the day before, and that most people think negatively? What you think about most of the time is what shows up in your life. Consider this. “You can’t think about what you don’t want to think about without thinking about it.”  Think about that one for a moment.

So, stop right now, and ask yourself if you have ever thought about what you say to yourself?  Are you focused on the positive or the negative? If you are fueling your body with negative words you are poisoning your body. If your record is stuck in that groove, it needs changing!

So here is your mission, should you choose to accept it!

For one week, commit to listening to your self talk. Listen and observe with no judgment. Take a few moments to write down what you say to yourself. You may be surprised at the findings.

We become what we think about most of the time. Your subconscious mind, which is the part that runs your life for you when you are not living consciously (most of the time) eavesdrops on what it hears. It tunes into key words, one with an emotional charge and imagery and then takes action on what it hears. It has no logic. It acts in the now.

If you are talking about what you don’t want, what do you think your results in your life will be like? Make a conscious effort to change your language so you are focusing on what you want instead of what you don’t want. If you don’t like what you hear, just like listening to a radio, change it!

When you take charge of your internal chatter, when you become congruent with what you really want, you will be able to focus in the right direction and the faster you will head towards it. Otherwise, it’s like going along a freeway with the hand brake on, or either worse, going in reverse!

It can take up to 30 days for something to become a habit. The way to change old habits and install new ones, is to take one step at a time and keep stepping forward. Commit to this for a week, then another one and then two more after that. Give yourself your own New Year’s gift and commit to this simple task, make it a good habit and watch the magic start to happen!
