fusion_global=”222″]. Beliefs.

When something in your life is not going to plan, it means you may need to change something. It could be the way you think, what you believe, how you are feeling or taking new action.

Today, we will look at our beliefs. Firstly, what is a belief?  A Belief is a feeling of conviction about something that is true, right, possible or real for you. Any belief that we have is always preceded by a decision, either consciously or unconsciously. It’s here the problem occurs, as many of our beliefs we unwittingly adopted years ago! We weren’t consciously aware at the time.

A Limiting or Negative Belief is any statement about your life, your capabilities, or what’s possible that limits you in some way. Your results you have right now in your life, are a result of your beliefs that you have chosen to have in the past.

Here are three steps to start your Journey of Change.

1.Stop and reflect.

Spend a moment looking at your life right now. What one thing is not working for you?  Ask yourself what disempowering belief or beliefs could you be holding onto that are contributing to your situation. Here are a few ideas to help you get started.

For instance is it, “Good things don’t last,” “It’s hard to make money,” or “I’m not good enough?…” Could it be “I’m not very successful” or “I have had a tough life.

2.Identify any limiting beliefs and write them down.

3.Pick one and ask yourself the following questions.

  • Where did I learn this from?  (It may be way back to when you were young!)
  • Do I really believe it?  Could the opposite be true?
  • Can you think of a time in your life when the opposite was true?
  • What would happen if you could let go of this belief?
  • What is it costing you by holding onto this belief?
  • Could you let it go now?
  1. Now choose to adopt a new belief that is more empowering.

Commit to drip feeding this belief in every day.  Make sure you phrase your new belief in a way that is believable to you.  If your old belief was “I am never successful” you could start with “Every day I am becoming more successful.”   Choose words that work for you!  Congratulations, you have taken the first step to change!
